R.I.P. Theodore DeReese “Teddy” Pendergrass, Sr.
(March 26, 1950 – January 13, 2010)
When a great musician dies I always feel a little down. Teddy Pendergrass was one of the greatest R&B/Soul singers ever!
To me his song, “Life Is A Song Worth Singing” always moved me. The words just inspire me to go in and do what I do and not even think twice about what else is around me, but my goals and aspirations. Shit… I wish I could have appreciated Teddy’s catalog of music more when he was alive, but now that he’s passed and I think about it; I take some words Jay-Z said to heart, “Don’t grieve for me my art remains like a dart from the speaker to your heart…” Word to God you right Hov…
You’re music won’t be forgotten T.P…. IT’S FOREVER.
“You hold the key in the palm of your hand, use it. Don’t blame your life on the master plan, change it… You control what you do with your life. You’re a fool if you think you’re helpless. Can’t change your life cause it’s out of you hand, so sad, no… “ – Teddy P. “Life Is A Song Worth Singing”
