“Laundromat” was Nivea’s 3rd single from her first album and I so fuck with this record! It was made at the point in R. Kelly’s song writing career when he was talking about household appliances & food and comparing them to sex, love and relationships in his lyrics. The “laundromat” metaphor is classic!
Going back on shit like this brings back memories of some great times for me, but I always say this and it rings true “life was simpler back then, but it’s sweeter now.” 😉
“Soap, Powder, Bleach, Towels, Fabric Softner, Dollars, Change, Pants, Socks, Dirty Drawers/ I’m Headed To The Laundromat/ And Let’s Not Forget The Food Stains, Dirt Spots, Head Sets, Chips, Pop, Pay Phones, Clean House/ I’m Headed To The Laundromat“
